WHAT IS KYBELLA™?
Kybella is a prescription medicine to improve the appearances and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat). also called the “double chin.”
HOW DOES KYBELLA™ WORK?
Kybella uses a synthetic form of Deoxycholic acid, whish is a bile acid, naturally produced by your body to help absorb fat. Once injected, the acid destroys fat cells beneath the chin area so it can’t store fat anymore.
THE TREATMENT
At Camas Medspa one treatment of Kybella is broken down in to 2 sesssions.
A client will purchase the Kybella treatment which is one kit of 4 vials.
The first visit will involve a consult following pictures along with noting the weight of the patient at time of visit.
Before the procedure, your healthcare provider will mark the injection sites with a marker and may administer a topical numbing agent or ice pack to ease any pain or discomfort. Usually 20 to 30, and up to 50, injections are used under the chin. The acid then works gradually to kill fat cells, which are metabolized by the body over the following weeks.
A follow up appointment will then be made approximately one to three months from initial treatment and the same procedure will be repeated with remaining vials.
The cost per treatment as mentioned above (one kit) is $1,800.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR KYBELLA TO WORK?
Clients generally report noticeable effects after 12 weeks or at least 2 sessions. Maximum results can be seen after six months and are meant to be long-lasting.
After pictures will be taken at every visit and up to 6 months or as needed.
The number of treatment sessions necessary varies for each person. Multiple treatments might be needed to reach optimal results. You can receive up to six Kybella treatments, with at least one month between each session.
