Spider Vein Removal

Spider veins are thin, thread-like veins that appear blue, purple, or red. They get their name from the fact that they often look like spider webs weaving their way beneath your skin. These veins most commonly form on the face, calves, ankles, and thighs, and are caused by poor circulation, pregnancy, high intensity exercise and hereditary factors.

What is Y.A.G.??

YAG stands for Yttrium Aluminum Garnet. These are the crystals used to generate the laser.
The YAG Laser is the most effective spider veins treatment, using light energy to target and eliminate them. A topical anesthetic cream is first applied to the treatment area along with epidermal cooling. The laser then acutely permeates the blood vessels, and the patient feels only a mild tingling sensation. From there the vessels will collapse and seal, thus eliminating the spider vein.
Recovery?
The recovery from treatment is not difficult, with mild side effects of reddened skin and mild swelling. Transient redness and swelling are the most common side effects, while scarring and pigment changes are rare. A cooling feature on the Nd: YAG laser protects the surrounding skin and tissue, achieving a superior result with faster recovery time.
How many treatments?

Depending on the depth of the treatment you may see results same day or it may take months for you to see more results. It can take several treatments to treat veins and depending on the area being treated it may require 3-5 treatments to bring you the best results.
The YAG laser procedure is very simple, pain-free and straightforward. It is done in the doctor’s office with no sedation and usually takes between 3 and 5 minutes per vein (time in the clinic is roughly 1 hour including check-in, preparation, and post procedure check).
