What Is Sculptra?
Sculptra is the only FDA-approved poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) facial injectable treatment that helps stimulate the skin’s own natural collagen production. It works gradually to help restore your skin’s inner structure to smooth facial wrinkles, such as smile lines, for a more youthful-looking appearance.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF COLLAGEN IN AGING?
As we age, we lose collagen, which acts as the skin’s support structure and helps maintain its shape. In fact, 70% of our skin is composed of collagen and collagen loss causes the skin to lose its elasticity and moisture.
Sculptra helps treat an underlying cause of facial aging—the loss of collagen. By helping stimulate your own natural collagen growth, Sculptra gradually adds volume that lifts the soft tissues and plumps skin from within.
How Does Sculptra Work?
Once injected Sculptra begins working with your body deep within the skin to help stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production over time, helping to reinforce the skin’s inner structure and increase facial fullness that has been lost due to aging.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR SCULPTRA TREATMENT:
• Stimulates your own natural collagen growth
• Helps restore lost facial volume and provides support to the skin to improve the look of smile lines (nasolabial folds), marionette lines, preauricular wrinkles (the vertical wrinkles in front of the ears), radial cheek folds (vertical wrinkles below the cheek), and chin wrinkles3
• Provides gradual and natural–looking results that become visible over a few months
• Long-lasting—lasts up to 2 years

Sculptra is the perfect dermal filler to achieve a complete liquid facelift since it can be injected in almost every area of the face and facial lines. Sculptra is commonly injected into the deep lines (nasolabial folds) of the face, along with marionette lines (smile lines), temples, and chin area. One of the most popular areas for Sculptra aesthetic is the mid-face as a cheek filler. After a series of treatments, new collagen is produced, and beautiful cheek bones are highlighted. Sculptra is contraindicated in the under eye area and lips, as Sculptra is meant to be a deep injection, and not designed for superficial facial areas or mucous membranes.
How many vials of Sculptra is needed?
Of course, as with almost all treatments, it is hard to determine how much of anything is needed until a FREE consultation has been completed with one of our trained injectors.
However, the averages do exist and are as follows:
In general, more mature patients with more volume loss, will require 2 vials per treatment session and younger patients 1 vial for each facial treatment. The chest, hands, and knees, all generally require 1 vial per treatment session.
Think of it this way – you will need one vial for each decade of life. So if you are in your 50s, 4-5 vials are needed to treatment and then 1 per year to offset the collagen you continue to use as you age.
sculptra for hip dips
How does Sculptra work for hip dips?
Hip dips are more prominent in thinner patients, who have less body fat, causing a more pronounced dip between the hip bone and thigh bone. Due to the decreased volume in this area, and less fat, this depression becomes more obvious. In addition, the shape of your pelvis can also define if your hip dips are more prominent, due to your own innate bone structure and anatomy.
Since a hip dip is an area which cannot be corrected without some cosmetic help, Sculptra has been a simple and effective way, without the need for liposuction, fat transfers, and plastic surgery, to correct this area without any significant recovery time.
A series of Sculptra treatments will restore the volume in the hip dip. Typically three treatment sessions are necessary to have cosmetic correction of the area.
Clients will also pair Sculptra Hip Dip treatments with trusculpt Flex sessions to get a more lifted and rounder butt.
How many vials of Sculptra for hip dips?
Typically we begin with 6-10 vials for hip dips. Depending upon the person up t0 20 or even 30 vials may needed to achieve full correction of hip dips, and achieve the desired hourglass figure. The exact number of vials depends on the architecture and anatomy of each individual patient and how large a correction is needed and the exact size of buttock augmentation which is desired.
How much does Sculptra Cost for hip dips?
